Getting to the Festival
Public transport will operate over the Easter weekend. Visit the PTV website for details.
Please note, a number of road and bus stop closures will operate to accommodate the Torchlight Lantern Procession and Gala Parade.
If you are driving to the festival, here are the key things you need to know.
Select roads will be closed throughout the festival precinct at different times over the weekend. Please re-visit this page closer to the festival for more specific detail.
There will be various detours around the central business district so please follow the road signs.
During the festival, two multi-story car parks will be open with parking free of charge:
- Hargreaves St (opposite the Bendigo Library)
- Edward St (Cnr of Edward St & Queen St)
Hours of Operation:
- Good Friday: 6am – 6pm
- Easter Saturday: 7am – 10.30pm
- Easter Sunday: 6am – 6pm
- Easter Monday: 6am – 6pm
Bus and Long Haul Parking
Bus and long haul parking will be available at:
- Tom Flood Sports Centre
- Bath Lane
- Hopetoun Street
Car Park Closures
Please note that the Queen Elizabeth Oval car park will be closed from 6am Saturday March 31 until 5pm Sunday April 1.
The McCrae Street carpark will be closed between 4.30pm - 10.30pm on Saturday March 31 (no access to exit at all during that time). It will also closed from 6am until 5pm Sunday April 1.
Park 'N' Tram it
Park outside the CBD near one of fi ve tram stops and catch the tram into town. The Easter Weekend Vintage Talking Tram ticket is valid from Good Friday to Easter Monday with trams departing regularly.
A shuttle service is available from the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade. Park your car at either end of the tram tracks and catch the tram to and from the parade between 9.20am – 2.40pm, Easter Sunday.

Why not jump on your bike, ride to the festival and avoid the hassle of parking a car? We are providing a designated area for bike parking in Rosalind Park, allowing you more time to explore the festival precinct.
The bike parking area is available from 10am – 5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is an unsupervised area so remember to bring your bike locks and don’t forget your helmets.
